HOLIDAY PROJECT
(Holidays and special days)
This project aims at discussing some holidays and special days that are celebrated in Brazil and especially in the countries where the English language is spoken as L1 (mother tongue), and at emphasizing the cultural difference between these celebrations. Another goal is to show that some festivities, which are of English origin, are getting popular in the Brazilian culture, for example, HALLOWEEN. This festivity is a time when people have parties, dress up as witches or ghosts, make lanterns out of pumpkins and play ‘trick or treat’.
The holidays and special days which are part of the project are the following:
EASTER – March or April

FATHER’S DAY – August
HALLOWEEN – October
